Modular Heat Storage

Modern Storage Systems for Comfortable Heat

Heating with a System

For long-lasting comfort

A visible open fire can be combined with both immediate and delayed heat output. With our fireplace inserts, you can create combination stoves that heat the room through convection heat while the fire is burning and simultaneously store a portion of the heat generated. The thermal mass then releases this heat into the room over an extended period of time.

The Camina & Schmid storage system consists of modular components that can be combined depending on the system design. Thanks to the tongue-and-groove system, the elements fit together precisely, making installation by your professional stove installer easier.

Advantages of Storage Systems

  • Combination of convection and thermal storage heat

  • Large viewing window for a view of the fire

  • Storage of a portion of the heat generated during combustion

  • Delayed heat release even after the fire has gone out

Comparison

Storage System and Fireclay

This heat-storage material is also used in our Profi GO masonry heater and is both denser and more thermally conductive than conventional fireclay. With a density of 2.75 kg/dm³ and a thermal conductivity of 2.62 W/m*K, it stores heat more efficiently and, thanks to its higher density, takes up less space in the room where it is installed.

Single-shell construction

Based on DIBt guidelines

We are a manufacturer of individually configurable storage systems, which are also available as sets. When properly processed in accordance with the technical specifications and installation guidelines, these may be installed in a single layer. Simply planned, quickly installed. Equipped with a tongue and groove system, they are easy to install.

By reinforcing the material with wire, our bricks are more tension-resistant and therefore particularly resistant to cracking. Due to the high density, a very compact design is possible, so that less space is required in the installation room.

Closed construction

Craftsmanship in a Class of Its Own

For fireplace inserts that have been tested accordingly, a closed design with a ceramic after-burner is possible. The appliance-specific planning and installation specifications form the basis for proper installation.

Provided the prescribed minimum size of the active, heat-emitting surface and other installation requirements are met, cold- and warm-air grilles are not required. The design is carried out by your professional stove installer based on the respective appliance documentation and the technical regulations of the stove and air heating installation trade (TROL).

Low heat demand

Pleasant radiant heat

In well-insulated new buildings, it is particularly important to match the heat output of the fireplace to the low heat demand. A ceramic heat storage unit absorbs some of the heat generated during combustion and releases it at a later time.

In a closed-system design, the heat is primarily transferred into the room as radiant heat via the stove’s surface. Natural air movement continues to occur. Your professional stove installer will tailor the output, thermal mass, and heat-emitting surface to your living space. This allows heat output to be distributed over a longer period and reduces the risk of overheating.

Planning example

The Ekko U 67(45)51 h 3-sided fireplace insert has a pane width of almost 70 cm and can be connected downstream with a ceramic flue length of 3.5 m, always assuming that a 15 Pa negative chimney pressure arrives at the flue gas connection. In order to dispense with cold and hot air grilles, an active surface area of 3.5 m² is required for heat dissipation.
